In 1963, city leaders embarked on an ambitious plan to revitalize Downtown Fort Wayne by building a multi-venue cultural district modeled after Lincoln Center in New York City—and they hired world-renowned architect Louis I. Kahn to do it.
Of the original 10-building vision, only one was realized—the Arts United Center. Arts Campus Fort Wayne has grown to include seven buildings, a public park and an outdoor market.
